A Poem a Day Opens the Window of the Soul a Little Wider 

We are all wayward children
whom the beloved Mother/Father is constantly calling
“Come inside, this instant.
The feast is on the table!”

We are one with the voice calling
and the vibration falling upon the ear

Reluctant to leave
our childish games of hide and seek
we tarry

Reluctant until
the intense longing for a love-meal
draws us to the Beloved’s kitchen

Come inside, come inside, come
Now or later
only come

The table is always set – come
Skip the hunger pains

This world of form and idea is always on the other side of the door

Soon the door disappears
there is no outside

Soon you lose your desire
to go out to play

You begin to help prepare
the feast for others
and make love games of your own
on the floor under the kitchen table
